Jump into Spring in Mexico from Forza Horizon 5. There are plenty of prizes to be won, including a pair of Peel Cars!
It’s spring, the hot season, in Mexico for Forza Horizon 5. This week, there are some quirky details about the challenges! Let’s take a look at the new season.
Reading List Completion Rewards
Again, there are two exclusive cars as playlist rewards this week. These are the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and the Peel Trident. Win these cars by reaching 25 and 45 playlist points respectively.
For the entire series, the Reading List rewards are the Gingerbread Outfit for 120 Reading List points and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ for 200 points. Both are exclusive rewards too, so don’t miss them!
The Horizon Secret Santa continues. Send enough gifts and we’ll all have a Peel P50! That’s two Peels on the playlist.
This week’s Forzathon Weekly Challenge is The Cossie, based around the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. We are going to get to know this gem from the 90s and put it to the test!
|Chapter 1: 90s icon||Owning and driving the 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth|
|Chapter 2: RS is for Rally Sport||Win 3 Dirt Trail events in Cossie|
|Chapter 3: Hoon Again||Earn a total of 100,000 skill points in the Cossie|
|Chapter 4: Wing Commander||Earn a total of 9 stars with Danger Signs in the Cossie|
Earn 5 Playlist Points for completion as well as 80 Forzathon Points. These Forzathon Points are doubled if you buy the right home!
Daily challenges are worth 1 playlist point and 10 Forzathon points each. They are as follows:
|Street gentleman||Earn 12 own racing skills in street racing|
|Grand Tourism||Complete a Horizon Tour in any GT car|
|Waste||Destroy 5 trash cans in 60 seconds|
|Ideal companion||Win a street race in a Rods and Customs car|
|Route 1||Earn 3 stars from any Trailblazer|
|rabbit jump||Airfield UTV Cup (we don’t know what that means)|
|Impeccable driving||Earn 12 Dirt Races Clean Racing Skills|
Horizon Arcade minigames are rewarding playlist points again, as we’d expect. This week’s trial is called Tis The Season To Be Hooning. Weirdly, it rewards us with a car that everyone wins from the start of the game, the Hoonigan Cossie. You must be in the Hall of Fame to participate in the Crucible.
Seasonal Playground Games, titled No Small Wonder, won us the Dial-up Modem Car Horn. There are also the Horizon Tour Co-op Championships and an EventLab to support. This EventLab is from DaftMonk3610 and will see us breaking trunks to speed up our car.
Public relations stunts
This week’s seasonal PR stunts are the Boardwalk Danger Sign, Los Arboles Speed Trap, and Vista Speed Zone Punto. The walk is a strange danger sign requiring a careful approach. It might help you go further to brake at the ridge earlier on the climb!
As with all seasonal PR stunts in Forza Horizon 5, you’ll need to verify that your car is eligible and in the correct class. The menu button in the festival playlist gives you the car restrictions! Each earns you a skating.
The seasonal championships are Down for the Countdown, with the incredible Mercedes G 63 6 × 6 as a reward, New Beginnings with the stylish Ferrari 575M and Auld Lang Syne, offering the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage.
You will have to beat highly skilled drivatars over three races to earn each reward.
This week’s photo challenge is #unpeelievable. Take a photo of the Peel Trident in Teotihuacan. It is very strange, because the Trident is the big reward of the playlist. Guess you could photograph someone else’s peel to earn points for yours? You also earn the Air Guitar emote.
There is also a treasure hunt! This is called too cold for air. We can see from the preview image that it will be the Chevrolet Bel Air, which is a great piece of retro Americana.
The Horizon Open “Driftacular! Has a reward of 25,000 credits. Eliminator brings you the Happy New Year link phrase. Enjoy it and see you next year!
